They talk about how politeness helps you make work a more pleasent place to be at. I agree you should be polite. You should be polite in everything that you do. If anything people percieve you easy to talk to and work with. In the book it says that you shouldn't you things like "don't you get it," or "don't you understand." The reason for that is that it isn't polite. You make people feel kind of domb in some cases and they can develope a sense of disrespect towards you and a lack of caring. When this comes time to the work place I think all this applies. The only thing that I might say a little different is that someone in authority should be polite, but also asurtive.

My name is Kalie Lyon. I am starting my blog as an intoduction of myself. I am born and raised Nebraskan. I have live in Grand Island all my life. I Graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 2004. I went to UNL for a year and decided that I needed a little more of something (I didn't know what) in my life. Later that year I decided that something was the military. I joined the Army National Guard. I went through basic at Fort Jackson, S.C., and AIT at Fort Gordan, Georgia. Now I am attending classes here at Central Community College for a semester and plan on transfering to UNL in the fall. My major is Criminal Justice with an emphasis in law enforcement. In saying that, that is the reason that I am in speech class. I am really excited for speech, but at the same time a little nervous. I am a bit shy, but I have become a better speaker since I joind the army. I can't wait to see how this class goes!!!
